SasuSaku Month 2017
Day 11: Shelter from the RainSasuke silently cursed the rain and its inopportune timing.
They were two hours away from the next village and were forced to take shelter
from the rain in a nearby cave. Cave wasn’t what he would call it either, there
was barely any room, not enough space so he could walk away to avoid a very
awkward conversation.“That kiss…” Sakura starts, no hint of nervousness on her
voice. “it was a mistake.” She finished and Sasuke turned to stare at her.“What?” He asked not knowing exactly how to reply to her words.
“We were drunk, and I don’t want you to think I take it as
anything more than what it was.” He’s about to open his mouth to object, this
isn’t how he expected the conversation to go. The old him would have rejoiced
in her dismissal, this him, was somewhat hurt. “We aren’t ready.” She spoke
before he could say anything. There was nothing he could say then. He knew he wanted a
life with her, he knew she wanted a life with him. When he looked toward the
future the only things that were certain were Sakura and Naruto, the rest was
blurry and unprecise. His sins were still heavy on his shoulders. When he opened his mouth again to speak, to tell her she was
wrong. They were ready, he was ready.
He couldn’t, the words wouldn’t come out. He was afraid, still afraid of
opening himself to love, of losing it again.
