~~~~~~~~~~ TITLE: REGRETS ~~~~~~~~
Sasuke regrets a lot of things in his life. And considering what a mess his life had been since the massacre of his clan, he kind of wished Itachi could have killed him too that fateful night.
But he survived, lived in a world blinded by his constant urge for revenge, constantly pushing away the people that mattered, the people that actually cared for him. The ones that never gave up on him despite the terrors of his mistakes. Of all the things Sasuke regrets, meeting her isn’t one.
Sakura, the beautiful, yet infuriating kunoichi that he was so lucky to have as a teammate even if he never admitted it. Whenever Sasuke thinks back of all the fangirls he encountered as a young kid, of all the girls that liked him, he could only see a kind girl with beautiful cherry blossom colored hair and bright green eyes, always ready to take on whatever struggles the world decided to throw at her.
And she not only did that, but she did it with determination and confidence. She worked hard for everything she accomplished, her skills now surpassing those of the legendary Sannin.
It hurt every fiber of his being knowing that he hurt her. Knowing that she hurt deep inside while he was away, slowly shattering to pieces. And it was all because of him. He was the one to blame. The Uchiha wished with all his heart that he could somehow travel back in time and take back all the painful insults he threw at her, take back all the pain he inflicted on her innocent heart.
However, the painful truth was he couldn’t. Such things weren’t possible. The actions were of the past and even if the things he said weren’t true, even if he only acted selfishly out of built up anger and impulse , he couldn’t tell her that.
He wished he had told her of his feelings sooner, told her of how much he loved her and that he had ever since their genin days. He couldn’t run up her, hold her, and ask her for her forgiveness any longer because he was too late. For once, he wished he hadn’t followed Kakashi’s example. Now, she was gone…forever.
He would never be able to hear her sweet voice again or feel the warmth of her gentle touch. He would never be able to hear her soft laugh nor her cries of anger whenever something made her mad. Never again would he be able to see that bright smile that managed to reach the pit of darkness he was trapped in and lit it up when nothing else could.
As he stood at her grave, teeth gritted, tears falling uncontrollably, fists clenched until his knuckles grew white. he knew something for sure. He would never in a million lifetimes love any woman more than Sakura Haruno. She was his first love and definitely his last.
