notes: thanks for tuning in this month, i’ll probably write more, stick around ❤
it was late in the evening that sasuke would see the sheen of his coat slink in through the living room window, as he ate his dinner in front of a muted television, an LSAT workbook in his lap. sasuke would assume his duty as an owner and give the semi-present cat a can of tuna, at which point the feline would allow him several moments of scritches on the cheeks before digging in. nights with sasuke were of quiet coexistence.
in the mornings, sakura would wake to the sound of claws at her balcony door. sleepily, the medical intern would drag herself from the bed, or the couch— or wherever she so happened to pass out the previous night after a long day at the hospital—and allow the fine black cat to saunter in for breakfast. often, she wonders just where it is the creature goes many nights, but long ago she accepted that, regardless of speech ability or opposable thumbs, everybody has a schedule. she picks the cat up typically without much protest, and snuffles her face against his, offer an eskimo kiss or two, before setting him down for his meal. by the time she’s in her scrubs and out the door, he’s a lump of useless fur on the sofa. still, she smiles, “goodnight, taro-san,” and departs out the door to start her day.
it’s that summer that the local animal control begins posting notices that animals be required to wear a collar, or risk being taken to the shelter. sasuke reads this one morning over coffee, his mouth contorting in the slightest as he finished the article. a seed of concern planted itself as he looked out the window and wondered where his silent companion might be. “he’s fine,” he tells himself as he dresses and departs for work. he would make it a point to stop by the pet store that afternoon to make tags for the fleeting feline, complete with sasuke’s address, his telephone number, and a name that simply read: cat.
It’s been exactly 4 hours since his wife has just given birth to their child, a girl. The Uchiha are known to give out strong male shinobi, for some reason Sasuke couldn’t care any less. He’s never felt this happy ever since Sakura said yes to his proposal.
Here they are right now at Orochimaru’s hideout. Sakura was fast asleep on a bed with IV injected in her arm, and Sasuke was sitting on a chair next to the bed.
The door quietly opens to reveal Karin, Sakura’s midwife, holding a tiny pink bundle securely in her arms. ‘My daughter.’ Sasuke fondly thinks to himself.
With a smile Karin gives the baby to Sasuke. Deciding to give the family of 3 some privacy, she leaves the room and that’s when Sasuke sets the tears in his eyes free to fall.
“Hello Sarada, I’m your papa.” He croaks a little bit, at the little human being he was holding.
“You’re mine and your mother’s everything, we’ll make sure you never think otherwise.” At saying that he bends his head forward and kissed her forehead.
“A-Anata?” Sakura wakes up from her resting, and when she turns her head to see her husband engrossed in snuggling their little girl close to his face as he softly kisses her cheeks.
“I love you, forever and always.” She hears him whisper to Sarada and that was enough for Sakura to know that her husband is content with everything they endured up to now.
Rating: T (?) Prompt: Free prompt (day 31) | SS Month 2017 Warning: Long fic.
A/N – Ah, this is my first time writing a fanfiction. I think this is the reason it turned out so long. (*blinking* – sorry for that) . I just really wanted to participate in the SS month – the reason this fic is T and not M. (Yeah first time and I was already planning R-rated 😛 ). But it was already too long and I had to cut it short. If people like it, I’ll write part 2 – the M-rated one. ^_^ . If someone takes out the time to read this long fic and likes it, thank you! 😀 . I am new to the fandom and Tumblr and just want to say – I just love the liveliness in this fandom. 😀
‘thoughts’ “conversation”
The very air between them was
simmering, being suffused with something – something
like love, something like lust – setting her skin and soul on fire. She could feel his eyes on her, following her
right hand as it moved up and down, up
and down on her left. No! No – ah, this is, this is ‘something more’.
Because her hand has slowly become just fingertips – when, she did not know – trailing slowly – sensually?– Up and down, leaving trails of almost fire, feeling
almost the same way his would. Almost
but not the same, it’s not the same.. , it
is not the same! Yes, this is something more, something that – what do you
call something, something that is a lust
formed of love that cannot be contained anymore? – wants to be expressed, needs to be expressed. She already knew,
because she feels it to her very bone, that her love for him is uncontainable,
too much for one lifetime. She knows this, then why now – why does it want to be, demanding to be explicit now? When did this start, when –
Hn. She knows exactly what the what, the when, and the why is.
I was just curious as to what Sarada would look like when she has the Mangekyou, so I drew this. Of course, not that I want her to activate it someday!
(Because a great trauma is needed to activate it, right? T.T I don’t want to wish that upon her!)
“I’m thirteen!” She screams as if declaring her age loud
enough would get her message across her father who just stares back
dumbfounded. Sakura could read his expression well enough. What have I done now?
Sakura wasn’t sure how to explain to her husband that maybe
his little girl was getting too old for plush animals as a gift from every
trip. “I’m a ninja, a chunin.” Sarada
tells him slowly, almost spelling out the words.
Sasuke just stares back and as oblivious as ever he speaks, “I
don’t see what that has to do with this.” He gestures at the four foot snake
plush he hold in his arms.
“Mom, you explain it to him.” She sends a look over to
Sakura before turning back to face her father. “I’m already late for a mission
briefing.” And with that she walks away without another word.
It’s not until Sarada closes the door out of the house behind
her that Sasuke turns to her and with a roll of his eyes he throws the snake
plush toward the couch. “I don’t get it, last month she loved the slug I got
her.”
Sakura smiles, it’s endearing, Sarada probably has more
animal plushies in her room that there are in all of Konoha put together. “Dear,
she’s growing up,” Sakura starts and Sasuke sends her a scandalized look in
turn, she sighs and continues, “but don’t worry, she’ll find a special place
for it in her room once she gets back.” If
there’s any space left.
Summary: The day Sasuke tries proposing. Doctors AU! with Dr. Sakura Haruno and Dr. Sasuke Uchiha, the anaesthetist. Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto. Rating: K
A/N: My first contribution to the fandom, inspired by a doctor and anaesthetist who are my brotp. Terminology are at the bottom. Feel free to comment/ask anything!
When he regained consciousness, he could only feel the power surging through his body, enveloping him with strength and adrenaline that he had never experienced before.
He slowly stood up from the ground and sensed fighting going on near him. He was itching to try out this new, surreal power he somehow achieved…
But then he saw her.
There was no mistaking that light shade of pink and that trademark red dress. She was sprawled on her knees, her shoulders slumped in exhaustion and her hair a knotty mess. When he approached her, she turned around to face him, her tired face already lighting up with a smile until she saw what state he was in.
Her eyes went wide.
After seeing her face all bruised like that, with her eye already swollen and turning purple and specks of blood scattered on her body, he felt anger rising inside him.
“Sakura… who did that to you…?”
What bastard did that to you?
…Because he will be the first one to taste my new power.
Sweat.
No…
That’s not the Sasuke-kun I know!
A burst of determination and courage filled her body, and her legs led her towards Sasuke’s form. Without even thinking about it, she wrapped her arms around him, stopping him from moving.
Stopping him from doing something he might regret.
Stopping him from doing what was never in his nature to begin with.
She was nervous as hell. She was scared. So, so scared.
But she would be damned if she just let him go off into the deep end.
And tears.
When he felt arms around his torso, his head immediately snapped towards the source.
His blood-red Sharingan eyes met her wide, imploring emerald ones. She was staring at him so intensely as if begging him to stop.
“Please…”
He was this close to brushing her off.
But the tears that freely flowed out of her eyes stopped him cold.
She was crying.
She was crying for him.
Why?
“…stop.”
The vivid image of her tears was ingrained into his mind before he collapsed to the ground, the curse marks already receding.
Notes: No, I haven’t forgotten about Day 15, but I had to change the order in the Prompts so they could fit the story. At first, I was going to go with the original order, but nothing I wrote satisfied me (besides this, I suddenly came up with an idea for the prompt inspired by an unexpected information about snakes that I came across on a book but I couldn’t match it with my original idea…). So, I decided to swap them and finally, the chapter started to have some sense.
What happens to Sasuke here is loosely inspired by ch. 9 of one of my favourite josei manga, Hapi Mari by Enjouji Maki. It’s a good reading in case you’re intersted in the genre and haven’t taken a look at it yet (≧∇≦*)
Also, as I said before that I would do, I want to tell you that this is the second to last chapter of this story. Finally, Sasuke and Sakura will get their ending on the next instalment (I hope to finish it on time for the end of the SSM, since tomorrow I’m having a very busy day…)
As always, if there’s something wrong (spaces, brackets…), please, tell me. I hope you enjoy it 🙂

IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH
With great care, Sakura put the crystal and silver flower hairpin on the side of the braided bun she wore that day and secured it, looking in the mirror of the changing room to check that it was in the perfect place.
“tell me about when you first fell in love with mama,” his daughter had asked him one sunday evening, somewhere near the border to takigakure. it was their first mission together, the first one he had said yes to, that is. intel was simple enough, but danger seemed to follow people like sasuke, and he knew that.
a request like this just five years ago might have terrified him, more than any foe he had ever faced, especially coming from the one person in his life he wanted most to impress. though after years of small steps, of forging a bond with his child he could only ever have dreamed of, sasuke only posed, “what do you want to know?”
the fifteen year old pursed her lips in a way all too similar to a face her mother made when deep in thought, and his heart only ached in the slightest, he missed her always, even in the short windows they were apart. “i guess,” sarada searched for the words, “i just want to know when you knew.”
“when i knew,” sasuke repeated her considerately, earning a small chuckle in response, “i was preparing to leave the village, the second time, for my mission.”
he had come to the decision on his own, all there was to do was receive permission from kakashi, to pack, and to go. naruto accepted the decision reluctantly, but with steadfast support. when the time came to tell sakura, he struggled, avoided it, told himself it would be best just to leave and hope at the end of the day she didn’t hate him hate him hate him. more than anything, he denied just why it was so hard to say goodbye.
it was late one night that he walked her home after a ramen outing with the dobe. she had worked a full eighty hours that week, despite any protests from he or naruto that she might work herself to death. sasuke didn’t sleep much in those days, but there had always been something oddly restful about listening to her talk about anything, deep into the hours of the night. “we’re still working on the mobility of the metacarpal, but just a few more days and i think he’ll be back in commission,” she said about the arm she and the godaime had engineered for naruto, as if it was all in a day’s work. it took everything in him not to scoff at how blissfully unaware she was of her own brilliance.
“you’re quiet,” she said, tearing him from his reverie. “well, more quiet, than usual.”
a frown pulled at his features as they stopped in their tracks, just down the street from her home. “sakura,” he spoke.
“sasuke-kun,” she responded, a flash of humor in her eyes.
“i need to tell you something,” he said, doing his best to look her in the eyes; doing his best not to think of the comfort it was knowing he would see her each day, to hear every mundane daily issue, each fleeting thought. he tried to forget for a moment that he would miss her.
“you’re leaving.”
a pulse of shock filled his heart, before he sobered, his eyes dropping to the ground, “you knew?”
“mm,” she nodded, kicking at pebbles that weren’t there, “i had a feeling, and i guess i was right.”
he didn’t know what to say, and felt for a moment that his stomach might just seize up and fall right off. “i’m sorry,” he managed quietly.
“for what?” she asked, and he noticed the nearly undetectable way her heart weighed heavily in her gaze.
he shook his head, shrugging, “i’m trying to apologize when i feel it’s in order.”
she breathed a half-hearted laugh, “i guess we all have to start somewhere.” he felt her hand squeeze at his bicep and turned to meet her eyes; and for a split second, for the first time, he wished for his other arm if only to place a hand over her own.
“just do me one favor,” she drew closer, her hand slid down his arm, and she pulled his palm to her chest.
anything, he wanted to say. anything.
“will you,” she fought hard against the blush that filled her cheeks, “will you think of me?”
sasuke tried not to hate himself so much at the idea that she would have to ask, if only because he wanted to remember this, years from now, happily. then and there, standing before her, his repertoire of happy memories was little more than a page in a long instructional manual on how to live a life of irreparable sadness. but he remembered joy, as well as all the nights he had mourned her sweet presence in his existence. this moment, no matter the outcome, would be a joyous memory. a beginning.
the breeze of night swept over them as he pulled her hand to his own chest.
“i love you, and i will always think of you.”
always.
sarada stared across the waning campfire at her father, a sobered happiness in her eyes, wondering where she had seen this expression on his face. this softness, this calm. it seemed so out of place. warmth enveloped her form as it finally dawned on her.
“maybe i should have asked you this on the way home?” she mused with a sprinkle of humor.
he scoffed, turning his head to get some rest.
a small smile pulled at her lips as she heard him say to himself, “maybe.”
“Mama’s riceballs are the best, after all,” Sarada declared. Her father nodded in agreement.
“Thank you, you two,” Sakura replied with a laugh.
The Uchiha family found a time together to have a picnic at their garden. Their new house is bigger than the previous one, and much stronger. The garden was also wider, much to Sakura’s joy. She planted numerous flowers, and there was a large tree for them to rest under its shade.
Sakura proposed the picnic, and after clearing up their schedules, found enjoyment not just in having the small event, but also at the time they’re together. To make up for the lost years, the three of them would do different activities or mundane things as a family. Sarada looked forward to each moment, eager to make lots of memories with her papa and mama.
“Papa, you can have my tomato salad if you want,” Sarada offered her father her bowl.
Her mama chuckled. “Still not very fond of tomatoes, Sarada?”
She shrugged. “They’re… okay, I guess. But papa likes them better.”
An amused smile graced his lips. “Arigatou, Sarada.”
At dessert, the princess of the family forced Sasuke to eat the anmitsu with her. Sakura looked on with a content smile on her face. This would be the perfect time to tell them.
“Another one will be joining us soon in our future picnics… after a few months at least.”
“Who is it, mama?”
“Well…” A faint blush adorned her cheeks as she smiled widely. She placed a hand on her stomach and looked at her husband and daughter, her emerald eyes sparkling with happiness.
The duo stared at her. Both dropped their spoons as realization dawned.
“Ma…ma?”
Sasuke activated his sharingan, and indeed, his wife is pregnant. He looked at her, bewildered and loss for words. Sakura turned her attention to Sarada, whose eyes started to water.
“I’m… going to be an… oneechan?”
The light of the household grinned at her. “You’re going to be an oneechan, Sarada!” she confirmed, giddy with the thought.
Both Sasuke and Sarada simultaneously hugged her. Sakura returned the gesture with equal fervor. Suddenly, she felt their tears and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You two dropped your spoons and hugged me at the same time. Now, crying together as well? You are indeed father and daughter,” Sakura teased, but also felt some tears forming.
“A-Annoying…”
“I’m going to be an oneechan…”
Both of their voices were quite muffled, but Sakura felt their happiness. When she released the hug, she saw their goofy grins, and she knows one was on her as well.
Sarada started babbling, telling how she’ll take care of her little sibling, how she’ll be a loving oneechan, and already started thinking of possible names. Meanwhile, Sasuke and Sakura looked at each other lovingly. So as not to disturb their daughter’s ramblings, he silently mouthed, “Arigatou, Sakura.”
The medic’s heart wanted to explode with joy. They will continue their journey as a family, now with another Uchiha in tow. She reached out to hug her husband and daughter, happiness showing as tears falling on her rosy cheeks. Soon, their family of three would turn to four… and it will only continue to grow in the years to come.
The road to their happily ever after may be rough, but at least they have each other to lean on both in good and tough times. Now that a new member has joined the family, the love between them just grew bigger.

This is the Uchiha family.

Unconventional in their ways… legendary in the shinobi world… still a family filled with love – their feelings forever connected.
