Days 6 & 30- Thank You/ Their Little Girl . Title: Thankful for the Past . Summary: Right now, he knows there’s no way he could be more thankful to the girl in front of him. His eyes are filled with pride, and as he looks at Sakura, Sasuke knows he needs to say the words that always end up stuck in his throat. . A/N: I’m so so sorry for taking so long, guys! I’ve been having some busy weeks lately, and I could barely find time to write it >.< I’ll find an answer for that soon, though, I promise!!! No matter what, I hope you enjoy this small fluff, and please, tell me what you think about it! . . .
The first time he thanked her, Sasuke said it right before walking away from her crying emeralds. He wasn’t sure if she had understood the meaning behind his words— not even he was fully aware of that himself—, but back then, the only thing that mattered to him was taking those words out of his chest in a hopeful attempt that it would sooth his demons and allow him to continue on his path towards revenge.
It was a selfish act, he knew. He was leaving her responsible not only for her feelings, but also for his own, and he didn’t know, or even cared if she would be able to handle all those clashing emotions in her heart. He was counting on her— on that little and fragile girl who called herself as a ninja.
Perhaps it was too much for her, he now knows, but she made it anyway. She built up courage and confidence, and with nothing other than her own strength, Haruno Sakura was able to handle everything that was thrown at her. She endured all the hardships, and it was only during his lonely, traveling days that he finally understood what his younger self had thanked her for on that night. He thanked her for her innocence. He thanked her for always being there, and most of all, he thanked her for the love she was willing to offer him.
A love so pure and powerful that only grew stronger with time.
A love that, just like her, blossomed into something wonderful.
And right now, many springs after that lonely, autumn night, Sasuke knows he needs to thank her once again. Today, more than any other day in his life, he needs to tell her how grateful he is for having her in his life, because he knows that without her— without her love, her strength and her annoyance— his dream of rebuilding his family would’ve never become reality.
Without her, he would’ve been alone forever. And he was tired of being alone.
Whaaa. This is the last day! I endured not checking out all the new fics and arts, so I’ll have lots to check out after the event. Expect me liking stuff. Hahaha. As you can see, I’ve skipped a lot of days, ahhaa. They were unfinished haha. I’ll just upload them after haha. Anyway, thank you to all those that appreciated my lazy fanarts. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the number of likes went to 200 then 400! Whaa. This fandom is really one of the best, most supporting, and loving community here. I really am glad to be here. I’ll do better on the next event. Hahah.
It’s been exactly 4 hours since his wife has just given birth to their child, a girl. The Uchiha are known to give out strong male shinobi, for some reason Sasuke couldn’t care any less. He’s never felt this happy ever since Sakura said yes to his proposal.
Here they are right now at Orochimaru’s hideout. Sakura was fast asleep on a bed with IV injected in her arm, and Sasuke was sitting on a chair next to the bed.
The door quietly opens to reveal Karin, Sakura’s midwife, holding a tiny pink bundle securely in her arms. ‘My daughter.’ Sasuke fondly thinks to himself.
With a smile Karin gives the baby to Sasuke. Deciding to give the family of 3 some privacy, she leaves the room and that’s when Sasuke sets the tears in his eyes free to fall.
“Hello Sarada, I’m your papa.” He croaks a little bit, at the little human being he was holding.
“You’re mine and your mother’s everything, we’ll make sure you never think otherwise.” At saying that he bends his head forward and kissed her forehead.
“A-Anata?” Sakura wakes up from her resting, and when she turns her head to see her husband engrossed in snuggling their little girl close to his face as he softly kisses her cheeks.
“I love you, forever and always.” She hears him whisper to Sarada and that was enough for Sakura to know that her husband is content with everything they endured up to now.
I was just curious as to what Sarada would look like when she has the Mangekyou, so I drew this. Of course, not that I want her to activate it someday!
(Because a great trauma is needed to activate it, right? T.T I don’t want to wish that upon her!)
“I’m thirteen!” She screams as if declaring her age loud
enough would get her message across her father who just stares back
dumbfounded. Sakura could read his expression well enough. What have I done now?
Sakura wasn’t sure how to explain to her husband that maybe
his little girl was getting too old for plush animals as a gift from every
trip. “I’m a ninja, a chunin.” Sarada
tells him slowly, almost spelling out the words.
Sasuke just stares back and as oblivious as ever he speaks, “I
don’t see what that has to do with this.” He gestures at the four foot snake
plush he hold in his arms.
“Mom, you explain it to him.” She sends a look over to
Sakura before turning back to face her father. “I’m already late for a mission
briefing.” And with that she walks away without another word.
It’s not until Sarada closes the door out of the house behind
her that Sasuke turns to her and with a roll of his eyes he throws the snake
plush toward the couch. “I don’t get it, last month she loved the slug I got
her.”
Sakura smiles, it’s endearing, Sarada probably has more
animal plushies in her room that there are in all of Konoha put together. “Dear,
she’s growing up,” Sakura starts and Sasuke sends her a scandalized look in
turn, she sighs and continues, “but don’t worry, she’ll find a special place
for it in her room once she gets back.” If
there’s any space left.
