SasuSaku Month 2017
Day 24: After Winter Comes SpringHer mother had taught her that after a tragedy something
good will inevitably come to balance the scales. So Sakura knew that after the
rain came the sun, after the winter came the spring, and after a bad hair day
came a good hair day. Now she wished the problems were as simple.Disaster after disaster had befallen them after the chunin
exams an every time something bad happened she told herself something good’s on its way.And then, Sasuke left.
After that everything was a downward spiral of bad after bad.
And she learned something new, something her new teacher taught her, you can’t sit around and wait for a change,
you have to make one.She thought she’d learned, but as she turned to the sound of
lighting she was back to being a child. After
a bad thing came a good thing. We’re the bad thing.
There was a wild look in his eyes as he charged toward her, a final
confirmation that her Sasuke was long gone. She closed her eyes, awaiting the
strike of the lighting blade against her chest. And as she did she told herself, the same way she would as a
child, something good’s on its way.

SSmonth Day 23: It was always you
Sasuke stares at the growing pink hair of his female companion. They had been traveling non-stop for five hours now when a blushing shinobi of Iwa appeared and greeted Sakura. They are now near the outskirts of Takigakure, Sasuke observes.
Following the aftermath of the war, many admirers express their romantic feelings for Sakura. A week before when he asked Sakura if she would be willing to go and travel the world with him. With her eyes watering with so much emotions, she said yes certainly. And since then, many would take notice of her, most would be men in their age, giving her some letters and gifts of that sort.
It is expected, Sasuke thinks. Sakura touched many lives during the war. As a healer, as a comrade, and as a friend. But to say that did not bother the sharingan-wielder would be a lie. He will always be standing there awkwardly by the side; waiting until her admirers would finally back off.
Sakura had always apologized for those disruptions. And he would always brush it off, saying he did not mind. But he did. He does.
And as he observes how the Iwa shinobi stutters to give Sakura a love letter, he has not noticed that he approaches them silently. The said Iwa shinobi then uncomfortably shifted and retracted his letter. His onyx eyes give him a once-over. He is only a few centimeters shorter than Sasuke. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He is carrying a huge shuriken behind his back.
“I-I haven’t noticed you have company, Sakura-san.”
Sakura smiles and introduces Sasuke to the shinobi. “Oh right, Banri, I assume you know Uchiha Sasuke.”
“Of course I do! He is one of the heroes of the war, alongside with you, of course, Sakura-san.” Banri nods and extends his hand to offer to Sasuke. “It is an honor for me to meet you.”
Sasuke looks at the shinobi’s hand wrapped in bandages. And after a careful observation, he has obliged to give the man a firm handshake. He then turns to Sakura. “If we keep our pace, we’ll be arriving at Takigakure by sunset.”
“Right. I hope you do not overexert yourself, Banri-san. Afterall, your hand is still recovering.” Sakura nods at Sasuke then turns to face Banri. “I’ll see you around then. Take care.”
A slightly frowning Banri waves his hand and wishes for their safety during their travels. On his other hand is the letter he has always wishes to give to the kunoichi who has been on his mind ever since the war.

Sasuke and Sakura arrive at their destination before the sunset. Ignoring some distrustful stares, they go to the market to buy some food. And after that, they settle to one of the caves near a waterfall.
And as their usual routine goes, they quietly eat their food.
“Do you get that a lot?” Sasuke begins.
Sakura pauses from eating her grilled fish, tilting her head in confusion. “What do you mean, Sasuke-kun?”
“Men approaching you.” He says afterwards, avoiding her gaze in the process.
“I guess. During the two years you’ve been searching for yourself, trying to correct your past mistakes, I have been assigned missions from time to time too. And yes, more often than not, people recognize me as the pink-haired healer.” She answers and then goes back to eating.
“That is not what I meant.” His eyes glued on the fire, still trying to avoid any eye contact with her.
Sakura’s brows furrow in confusion. She is about to ask him for a clarification, but then it occurs to him what he means. “Oh..” She puts her food on her side and faces him altogether. “Why are you asking me such thing, Sasuke-kun?”
A minute of silence settles in. The sound of the wood cracking from fire takes over. And although Sakura wants answers from her questions, she now knows Sasuke enough not to meddle into his thoughts. She is not going to force him to open up.
“Why? Why me?” He asks, raising his head this time.
Sakura is stupefied at first. This man that she has only ever loved since day one, questioning her. Indeed why is it him. There are plenty of guys out there willing to offer her everything. But this man, who has hurt her too many times, she still feels that she will only be happy with him.
“It was always you, Sasuke-kun. It will always be you.” She finally says.
“Whatever happens, I will still love you. There is no reason for that. I know there is a long way ahead of us, but I am willing to wait. No matter how long it takes.” She smiles this time, a sincere and bright one, the smile that is only reserved for him.
“I know what you’re going to say. And I’m repeating what I just said. No matter how long it takes, Sasuke-kun. I’ll be by your side. Always.”
Sasuke rubs his nape, keeping his eyes on the ground. And when his eyes meet hers, he smirks. “You really are annoying.”
Her smile brightens even more, already knowing the hidden meaning behind the insult. “Oh! Before we forget!” She reaches out for her bag, searching for something. She brings out a rectangle-shaped box wrapped in a color blue paper.
“Happy Birthday Sasuke-kun!” She extends her arm, giving her gift to him.
He blinks twice, thrice. He has not remembered that indeed it is his birthday today. He has not also noticed Sakura buying him a present. He takes the box from her hands, carefully opening it.
In it is the official picture of Team 7, framed in a wooden material. There is a hidden message that the people in the picture will always be there for him, accepting, welcoming him again in their lives.
“I figured that you lost yours years ago. And because of Pein’s attack, your things cannot be recovered anymore.” Sakura explains.
He shifts his eyes from the picture to his companion. “Thank you, Sakura.” For everything.
SasuSaku Month 2017
Day 23: It Was Always YouAs with everything else with Sasuke, big steps in their
relationship were different. They weren’t marked by big events or over the top
romantics, they just happened.Ino would argue that Sasuke didn’t have a romantic bone in
his body, sometimes Sakura was inclined to agree. He wouldn’t sing off key to
her at anniversaries, wouldn’t write her poems in calligraphy to send over her
work in an ink dove, but Sasuke could be romantic in the ways you’d only find
in novels. So she shouldn’t have been surprised when he proposed to her
with the moon reflecting on the lake water on what could have very well been an
enchanted forest.She said Yes
because really, there has never been another answer.“Let’s get married tomorrow.” He said and she didn’t have to
be looking into his eyes to know that he was serious, he wouldn’t not be
serious about something like that. “There’s a village half a day’s journey from
here.”She had to stop him there, “Shouldn’t we take this slowly,
it’s a big step.” On she was a hundred percent sure she wanted to take, one she
wanted to be sure he wouldn’t regret.“We’ve taken everything else slowly, and I know you’ve never
asked for anything more than I was ready to give for my benefit.” She could
hear his grateful tone of voice, he wasn’t always ready to tie himself to
another, for so long he feared that if he let himself love he might lose
everything over again. But she could wait, she wanted to tell him.He shook his head, as if reading her thoughts. “It was
always you, always. I’m ready to take this step and the next.”

Notes: I don’t like (and I don’t do it) to change stories or jump from one prompt to another unless I’m combining them, but today is Sasuke’s Birthday and I wanted to do something special. So, I’m taking a short break from the story I’ve been writing up to the moment to bring you this little one for the Prompt of his day.
It’s an old work from 2014, when I participated in the SasuSaku Month. After asking for permission, I posted the few stories I could write before going away on holiday in Spanish, my mother tongue, among them this one. I’ve translated and edited it a bit. As always, if you find something strange, tell me, please. I hope you enjoy it 🙂 Tomorrow, I’ll post Prompt 13 (I wanted to upload both today, hahaha ¯_ʘᗜʘ_/¯).

ABSENCE
The seconds ticked loudly in the silence of the room, announcing with every sound that minutes and hours kept going by from the time he had told her that he would return.
SasuSaku Month 2017 – Day 10 – Photograph
No warnings. Here, this is a small contribution, bc it’s still the birthday of my fave person, Sasuke Uchiha. Thanks for reading, please leave feedback!!
Konoha in the morning was beautiful. Tenten thought it was simply breathtaking – the way the colors played and swayed at the edge of the unknown – so she could climb at the edge of Hiruzen’s head and catch the dawn at its most magnificent. The colors splayed in an endless aquarel that cleansed her soul with both sadness and grandiose self-conciousness, her existence didn’t matter much, at least not here, underneath this sky. Polaroid camera she had always had with herself was always to come in handy, and her generous, civillian father, the last of her family (the one she knew) had always fixed it, ever since she was young and she even carried it to the war. Numerous pictures have passed through this polaroid. But ever since the young Sarada Uchiha was born, Tenten’s favorite thing had become a different one. All the sunsets and moons and flowers had looked the same.
Instead, she was filled with new hope. That life can be good again. No matter how bad our losses. Because if a person who encourages, loves, or just simply makes you a better person exists – you need nothing else. And after the war, the just blooming Uchiha family made place for one more. And another.
TenTen, not having a last name to go after was adopted by Sasuke and Sakura Uchiha, three years after the war. Sasuke found out, before the war started, that Tenten was related to him in a very far sense, but still his last (now quite literally) living relative. TenTen was also amazed by the request of the survivor, so she moved without a word. Her three years were spent mourning, Neji and some comrades from Konoha and others whose faces she has seen fleetingly, but missed their existence, through never experienced the joy of meeting them. Sakura helped her the most – in pulling her out of her depression. And Sasuke, for the sake of his last family member not being fucked up. He truly put in effort (a complete one hundred ‘n’ eighty for him but around TenTen, even the ever-so-beloved Fifth spilt top-secrets of the nation with ease). Her grandmother was an Uchiha, who was Sasuke’s cousin. So Sasuke, just based on that decided to elope and meet up with the best weapon wielder in all of the Great Five Nations and beyond. They trained together – Sasuke amazed at her marksmanship – hundred out of hundred hit with pure ease. Some targets she didn’t even look at.
The sadness didn’t prevail – and Sasuke, the person who hated being photographed the most, endured the brunette’s hobby. TenTen was being thanked on a daily basis, Sakura had over a thousand photos monthly. And that was just the beggining.
Baby Sarada was born – the new hope of the Uchiha clan. And TenTen cried. Because Sasuke brought her home, broke the terrifying loneliness that somehow always loomed over her, because he was smiling, his real smile – and told TenTen with Sakura smiled behind him, “This is our baby girl.” And Sarada, opening her dark eyes, cooed, stretching her small, smallest arms over to her, hugging her so instinctively – the child that had seen her for the first time – and she already knew they will love each other forever. And before she thought it couldn’t be a purer and a more beautiful sight – she got her little head hidden in the crook of her neck – and the beautiful brunnette brushed the swirl of black hair with her lips. “Ah… you are going to be Auntie’s little girl. I feel it…” mouthing a thank you at the two of them.
From then on, every day of Sarada’s growth, including the one of her family was recorded. Tenten had her first teeth on camera – burps and bumps and snowflakes and birthdays and basics and smallest and biggest: nevermind how ordinary – Sarada and she had a special familial bond. She would childishly sneak into the room and photograph the couple as they kissed, the three year old next to her giggling and revealing their presence. Sakura would pout at the brown eyed girl – but quickly forgive as she noticed the beautiful stroke of light on her pictures – their beauty abnormal, Sasuke’s even more so, exceptional and pure, rendering her wordless.
To be honest, there were so many pictures that Sakura had just one bookshelf for all the photo albums. If the Uchihas had anything those were the photographs.
Sasuke would tsk and hn at the shelf when Sakura would mention it but approve nevertheless. Women would often spend their evenings watching the flat screen and the news in Five Nations, and Sasuke and Sarada would indulge in quality father-daughter time. Uzumakis and the Uchihas often ate dinner with one another and TenTen didn’t like to interrupt – but Sakura wanted to always ask TenTen out of politeness, until one day Sasuke asked her (more like ordered her but hey, we don’t care about the little things) and she had missed only three dinners in ten years. Boruto’s toothy grin as him and Sarada tortured the poor Himawari with hugs, cuddles and tickles, and TenTen would scoff, making Sasuke and the Uzumaki couple laugh. Sakura and Sasuke would even luxurize themselves once a week, having nights off and resting at a small lake just outside Konoha. TenTen knew that they deserved every ‘alone time’ moment they could get.
She told Sarada stories about Neji, how brave and selfish and stupid and oblivious he was, and how she will never marry. She told the little girl a lot. Of love and loss, of relatives and bonds that exceeded those simple labels – and the little girl acknowledged that her auntie TenTen was someone who was actually very knowledgeable of life. Sakura would lay down with Sasuke and Sarada and often talk to him about Sarada’s family – the Uchiha clan, because knowledge was very important – and about your roots was a very important one. TenTen was asked these questions but rather gallantly escaped them as Sasuke took on the burden of the existence of such questions.
Small and perfect, she would tug at her father’s sleeve to teach her how to use her clan’s jutsu, or spend the mornings with her mother trying to heal fish or something akin, since she wanted to master three things in her life: become the best nin that Konoha’s Uchiha clan ever had, better medic than her mother, the best weapon user in the history. All that in kind, and she would train her patience and kindness too, and become Hokage.
So, recording every day of her hard work – the living room quickly became the room with the most photo albums in their house (not including TenTen’s own), so the day before Sarada’s inauguration, TenTen skated among the most important dates, speeches and trainings, to remind the family and the young Hokage how important and full were their lives – how beautiful their existences. How precious Sasuke’s and Sakura’s little girl was. Because on the day she put the hat with ‘Hi’ and put in her the Will Of Fire completely, becoming the Ninth Hokage, Sarada Uchiha was photographed smiling, the picture afterwards showing her cape with the Ninth Hokage emboidered on it – later pictures showing her mother crying tears of joy and her stoic father smiling.
TenTen loved both nature and human expression. But her family – Sakura, Sasuke and Sarada Uchiha, no one could ever beat them at a prettier picture they make.

Day 23 – It Was Always You
Looking
down at the small bundle in his wife’s arms, Sasuke finds it hard to breathe.
Soft onyx curls, and porcelain skin; she looks so fragile he’s scared she’ll
shatter at his touch. He feels proud; so proud of how far they’ve come. This
child is living proof of the love he and his wife share.Sakura
looks up at him with tired eyes. She has an ethereal glow about her and he
can’t help but admire her beauty. He takes notice of the yin seal on her
forehead glowing ever so slightly, and wonders how exhausted she must be.He
reaches his lone hand out to gently caress one of Sarada’s rosy cheeks, and is
surprised when she stirs. As her eyes flutter open and she gazes at him in
wonder, he’s enchanted. Looking into his daughter’s eyes, Sasuke sees a reflection
of what he wishes to be. She knows nothing of evil. She knows nothing of war or
of death. She represents the purity of the world, and he makes a vow to himself that
nothing will steal that from her. She was sent to rescue him from the darkness
he was lost in for so long. She is his light, his strength, his miracle. She is
their miracle.Sasuke
doesn’t realize he’s crying until Sakura reaches up to wipe away his tears. She
grins through glassy eyes and tear-stained cheeks, and tells him she loves him.
Those three words don’t even begin to express what he feels in his heart, so he
simply kisses her. Their lips linger on one another’s for what seems like
minutes, until he feels her tremble. He pulls her to him, and as he holds her
in his arms he realizes the darkness he had grown accustomed to has faded to
light. He is finally saved.

Notes: Sorry for the delay and thank you for your patience. As I told you yesterday, things came up in RL and could not write to my heart’s content. Furthermore, this chapter has given me quite a few problems and I had to rewrite some parts once and again till I was satisfied.
As always, if you find something strange, please, tell me ^^ I hope you enjoy this second part 🙂

STORM (PART II)
They arrived at Sasuke’s house more than half an hour later due to the heavy traffic that filled the streets and some detours they had to take when the police officers asked them to. Sakura could perceive he was clearly annoyed by the situation and did not know how to feel about it. If it had not been for her, maybe he would have arrived earlier. By that time he could have been comfortably watching television at home. Or sleeping, as Naruto had said.

Day 4- Lean on Me
.
Title: Taking Care of You
.
Summary: Sasuke, Naruto and Boruto have just returned from their fight against Momoshiki. Sakura was waiting for them, and she was ready to take care of her boys.
.
.
.
Her heart was beating faster with every minute gone by with no sign of them. Lungs demanding for air, adrenaline running through her veins and her hands were sweating in pure anxiety, as the pink haired woman was clearly afraid of the unknown. She was terrified, for her boys were still out there— wherever the hell out there was— and yet, she had to keep it all inside because she was not alone on the top of the Hokage tower. There were people around her. Her subordinates, her friends and her daughter, and they were all depending on her strength. They were all scared. Probably more so than her. They were praying and holding each other’s hands in order to unite forces, as their hope slowly escaped their hearts.
It reminded her of how it felt to watch it all from behind as her comrades risked their lives fighting Madara. When she was left to heal those who needed, while she could only hear the despair from all those scared souls, and when everyone was looking at her as if expecting she would offer them protection and comfort.
Yes, it felt just like the war, again. With all those eyes and that heavy atmosphere, Sakura could feel the weight of the world falling over her shoulders. And just like that time— and during so many others—, when the ones surrounding her started to lose faith, the Uchiha matriarch took it upon herself to make sure no one gave up. Even if she didn’t have answers, and even if she was as lost as all those around her, she had to be strong. No matter what, she was not letting anyone give up on them.

Notes: More out-of-season stories XD
As in the previous one, the places depicted in the story are real (except for the restaurant). However, the descriptions might not be accurate since I had to depend heavily on photos, descriptions and Google Maps, so please, be lenient with that, especially if you’re Japanese or have been there.
Sorry for the delay and, as always, if you find something strange, please, tell me ^^ Thank you again for the kind messages and the notes. I hope you enjoy this one too 🙂
P.S. I saw I had an instant message this afternoon, but when I was going to reply to it some minutes later, it had disappeared. I don’t know if Tumblr ate it or that person deleted it (then, it’s fine), but if it’s the first case, could you please send it again?

STORM
After turning off the car, Sasuke wrote a brief message in his smartphone and sent it. Then, he put his hands on the steering wheel and leant back on the driver’s seat, closing his eyes for a moment and sighing tiredly.
It was a tradition in the Uchiha family to gather for New Year. For two days, the members came from all the places in the country to the main house, and an official dinner was held on New Year’s Eve. After seeing the year off, a special ceremony was celebrated to ask the gods for their protection. The first day of January was also full of events and he had barely had time to sleep soundly after so much activity, drinking and eating. He had returned to his flat early that same morning to rest for a while, change into a clean suit and shirt, and pick up Sakura for the traditional visit to the shrine. Even though they had already done it with their families in the temples their clans belonged to, they had decided to go together a second time and spend the day out before she dedicated all her time to study for her Medical Licensing Examination in February.
An Outsider’s Point of View
Characters: Sasuke/Sakura
I wrote this because for whatever reason I just couldn’t get this scenario out of my head. I don’t even know if there’s a particular inspiration for Sasuke’s role or his music. I listened to a lot of Tyler, the Creator’s new album, which is beautiful by the way, because it has a lot of the slower, sweeter vibe I was going for. Majid Jordan’s great too, they’re currently my favorite in the music scene. He’s even got a little bit of that Drake in him in this (ala Hold On We’re Going Home) although imagining Sasuke as Drake is hilarious.
The overbearing storm, completely and undeniably overwhelming in all other areas was watered out by the noise of the large venue.
Even with snugly placed ear plugs and her place behind the speakers, she was still able to hear the thunderous cheers and the sonic boom of the bass, but even those paled in comparison to the strong, steady timber of his voice, blaring through every single crevice of the stage.
He only stood a few feet away, but it was almost as if he were in a completely different reality. Purple and red lights encompassed the stage, bathing him in an ethereal glow. Even with the slight distance between them, she could see the beads of sweat rolling down the temples of his face, his neck, and down the muscles in his arm.
He was incredible, he was in his element. Staring at him on the stage, the statement was inevitable. He was born to do this.
