SasuSaku Month 2017
Day 3: ChemistryNaruto was sick of it, they acted like an old married
couple. They thought that he hadn’t noticed, that the whole village hadn’t
caught on, but everyone had. And almost like a general rule, no one said anything.
Naruto was about to explode. It was one of those rare days when Naruto was able to escape
Hokage duties to have lunch with his former teammates. They were at Ichiraku at
Naruto’s request, he was on his second bowl of ramen eating slowly as Sasuke
had just finished his.He saw from the corner of his eyes as Sakura turned to him
brought a finger to the corner of his lips to wipe an excess of broth and then
she stuck the finger in her mouth. Sasuke just rolled his eyes as if their
exchange was the most common thing in the world.Naruto stopped eating, forgetting altogether his ramen to
stare at his two best friends like they had just grown a second head. After a
moment they both turned to him and asked in unison, “What?”Naruto didn’t know how to phrase a reply, he was acting as
if they had done such a dirty thing in front of him, but they might as well
have. Public display of affection was a line they hadn’t crossed before. “You
fingered him.” That came out wrong. Sasuke looked scandalized at his choice of
words, Sakura looked confused.“You can’t do that!” He added after a moment.
“What?” This time it was Sasuke who asked, sounding
exasperated, Naruto wanted to hit him.“Everything, all of it!” He had a mental list of all of
those things they should not be doing, Sakura would hit him on the head for
half of it. “I am Hokage, and I am declaring as of right now that you two can’t
be doing all those things you’re surely doing until you marry.”“Naruto…” Sasuke started with that tone of voice that told
him he’d like nothing more than to punch him in the face. “We are married.”“What?”
That day Naruto found out his two best friends had gotten
married on their travels, they had told him nothing, and he hadn’t even been
invited to the wedding. And so the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf spent the
remainder of the afternoon annoyed at the Uchiha’s for a whole different
reason.

Chemistry
He slips something into the palm of her hand and she stares at it curiously. It was a small pendant with no chain or hook. She turns it over it her hand to examine it in close detail. He had handed her a pendant of the Uchiha crest.
Sasuke clears his throat as he stuffs his mittened hands back into the pockets of his coat. “You can keep it… or throw it away… or keep it,” he mutters.
“You already said the last part earlier,” she tells him as she smiles and plays with the pendant and rolls it around in her palm.
He rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet as he glances up at the sky before answering her. “Just giving you options.”
Sakura nods as she pockets the pendant. Sasuke watches carefully as he lowers his scarf from his face. “Are you accepting the responsibility in keeping that?”
“You didn’t say there were strings attached,” Sakura retorts.
He scoffs. “Of course there are strings.”
She smiles as she strokes her chin. “It couldn’t be something corny like ‘spending the rest of my life with you’ could it?”
Sasuke bites his lip as he brings a mittened hand to hide his already reddening face. Quickly, he reaches into Sakura’s pocket in an attempt to get the pendant back. It proved to be difficult with just mittens on, however, and Sakura immediately reacts as she hops back and grabs his wrist at the same time. “Give it back to me,” he orders. “It’s too corny. I can’t do it.”
She laughs as she fights him off. "Come on, you can say it!”
“No.” He was always a stubborn one. He sits down on the bench behind them as he crosses his leg and looks away. Expressing himself outwardly was always difficult for him.
“I love it, Sasuke-kun,” Sakura smiles as she comes to sit down beside him.
“Good, ‘cause there’s only one of that in the entire world.”
Sakura nods as she clutches the pendant tightly in her hand. She leans her head against his shoulder as she opens up her palm to admire the pendant again in the light. “Yes,” she says.
“Yes to what?” he asks as he turns to her.
“To spending the rest of my life with you. I thought I would just put it out there so you would know in case you didn’t.”
“Then yes too.”
“Yes to what?” she asks him back.
“Yes, I love you.”
Sakura seems surprised at his words but a huge smile spreads across her face. “I thought you didn’t like saying corny stuff?” she teases as she pokes him in the arm, clearly both pleased and prodding him for more.
“I don’t. But I thought I would just put it out there so you would know in case you didn’t.”
With a soft smile, Sakura slips her mittened hand into his as she leans her head once more against his shoulder. “I do,” she murmurs as she closes her eyes.
Not Too Late
Summary: Sasuke is friendly with her – a friendliness that is simultaneously a relief and torture. Their friendship is as it always was, but she finds she is no longer satisfied by that. [SasuSakuMonth2017 – Day 2– Prompt: “Something More”]
SasuSaku Month 2017 – Chemistry
Note: Post Gaiden; takes place during the Boruto movie.
“You sure are happy mama, I bet it’s because now that papa has finally come home.” Sarada teases her mother, resulting the Uchiha matriarch to blush.
“What are-”
“I can read you very well mama.” She smiles cheekily and runs off to catch up to her teammates.
Watching her daughter run off fondly she thinks to herself ‘You’re probably the happiest out of everyone Sarada.’
After the fight with Momoshiki and Kinshiki…
Sasuke and Sakura peacefully watch their daughter and her team from the rooftop.
“I’m glad you’re home now.” Sakura gives her husband a joyous smile and comes down to stand next to him.
‘After all these years she still gives me this reaction.’ Sasuke thinks to himself, heat forming on his cheeks.
“Heh.” He does a small grin and holds her hand in his, savoring its warmth and lets her rest her head on his shoulder.
It felt so great standing next to her.
“Let’s go home.” He leads them back to their house, never letting go of her hand.
Once they arrive home, Sakura pulls him in a long overdue kiss.
“I love you, my darling.” She smiles once she lets go leaving him speechless as she walks into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Sasusaku Month ‘17: Day 2
Prompt: Something more.
Title: Going Through Changes.
Rating: K
Summary: A trip to sunagakure planned by Sasuke, and what do you call it? oh, honeymoon! /Sasusaku travels. /Newly weds.
A/N: So I wanted to write a little more for this one, may be one scene more but I ran out of time. Well, here it is, I hope you guys enjoy this one.
‘Going Through Changes’
Hot breezes of wind were hitting her face, her hair blowing with the moving air. Tiny particles of sand could also be felt by her skin as another blow of wind hit her messy locks, spreading them all over her face. She stopped in her tracks, sighing for the hundredth time that day, She made yet another attempt to move the strands of her hair away from her line of sight, successfully unblocking her vision.
“When in the World will we reach sunagakure?” The pink-haired medic of Konohagakure asked in frustration.
“Are you tired already?” questioned the raven haired man who the only one to keep her company in the burning desert.
“I didn’t know the journey will be this long!” She exclaimed, a frown decorating her face.
“We’re almost there.” Smirked the dark-haired man.
Tying her hair into a bun, as tightly as she could, she continued to walk along side her companion. The sand was flying everywhere in the air, only to make it even more difficult for her to be able to see the silhouette of her destination.
The large eagles could be seen high above them, spreading their wings across the sky, like stars floating in the galaxy, they felt so brave, brave because they didn’t fear a fall. Even though everything was barely visible because of the dust particles blurring the scenery, this scene was still quite apparent to his eyes for he was the only rinnegan-user alive.
It wasn’t long until his eyes caught sight of the tomb-like structure of the kazekage-building of sunagakure. He looked over his shoulder to find his pink-haired companion sulking, a look of vexation decorating her features.
A smirk crossed his lips.
“Aren’t you the one who suggested we walk?” his question seemed more like a comment. A comment to tease the already annoyed pinkette.
She didn’t say a word, just looked at him with a pouting face, her cheeks appearing chubby, lipspursing like a bud of rose, eyes narrowed, eyebrows frowned, and she had no idea just how cute she looked to him like that.
So he looked away, because he couldn’t let her see the blush on his cheeks.
“Look Sasuke-kun!” she exclaimed, joy evident in her voice as she continued “I can see it, the dome of the building. We’re almost there!”, her finger pointing towards their destination. And it took his aback when she suddenly grabbed him by his arm, pulling forward. “Hurry up!” she insisted, forcing him forward.
He mumbled a quiet ‘hum’ at her action and followed her lead.
Two ninjas clad in the chunin uniform of suna could be seen, waiting for them at the check-post.
“Good evening.” one of them greeted.
“Good evening!” The rosette replied as cheery as ever. “We’re here to meet the kazekage concerning an important issue.” She explained.
“Sure.” the young chunin smiled as he bent down and took out what seemed like a filed paper. “Um, your name?” he questioned.
“Haru-”
“Uchiha.” She was cut off by the hoarse, sonorous voice of Sasuke. “Uchiha Sakura.” he exaggerated, emphasizing Uchiha.

Day 3 – Chemistry (SSM17)

Her heels slide upon the floorboard just slightly. She comes to an abrupt stop in front of the laboratory door. Sakura pauses, then hesitantly opens it.
Clearly, there had been some kind of accident here.
Beakers smashed, charcoal lining the walls, and in the middle of the chaos stands Sasuke and a young child in the village who’d taken quite the liking to Sakura.
Sakura is at a loss for words.
Sasuke decides to speak first, “I can explain”.
Sakura purses her lips, and holds up her hand.
The small village they stay at now; high upon the mountaintops with a population sub one-thousand, had been kind enough to let Sakura use their facilities for research. The flowers, and plants that surrounded the village boasted the potential for serums and poisons not commonly known in the larger villages.
She had been so grateful that they’d allowed her to use their labs.
And now her husband had gone and destroyed it.
“Wait, this is my fault, Miss Sakura – I’m really sorry”. The young boy in the room steps forward and bows his head. The son of the owner of the facility. Usually a rather happy and bright child now stands before her; apologetic and nervous.
Sakura’s shoulders relax, “Ryuu…did you do this?”
The young child nods. He cannot bare to meet Sakura’s gaze. He scrunches both hands around the end of his shirt. “I’m sorry,” he says, “I didn’t know this would happen. I was playing around and I know mama told me never to do that but…”
Sakura bends down so that she is eye-level with Ryuu, “its okay,” she smiles, “as long as you’re not hurt”.
Ryuu shakes his head.
“Good,” Sakura softly intones.
When she stands back up, she tells both that she’ll look around the facility for any cleaning supplies for this mess.
The moment Sakura leaves the room, Ryuu’s expression clears up, and he turns back to glare at Sasuke.
Sasuke holds up his hand in a gesture of appreciation, “thanks for the cover, Ryuu”.
The young child pouts, “you owe me one, mister”.
SasuSaku Month 2017
Day 2: Something More“You’re in love with her.” It’s Ino who speaks, Sasuke turns
to her the question evident in his eyes. How
do you know? He’s ready to deny it, ready to scoff and turn to look
elsewhere, but despite himself when he turns away from Ino his gaze falls back
to Sakura.“Everyone knows…except her that is.” Ino seems to take his
silence as an invitation to continue. “I knew before anyone else.” Her voice is
filled with pride, Sasuke scoffs at her. “I knew from the Forest of Death.”
Sasuke tries to tune her out and focus his attention on Sakura as she heals
Kiba who had just taken a heavy beating from Naruto.“You should tell her, you know.” Ino keeps insisting. His
attention is still on Sakura who turns to scold Naruto for taking yet another
sparring match too far.“If it’s as obvious as you say it is then she’ll figure it
out.” Sasuke replies. It takes him a moment to realize he just confirmed Ino’s
speculation, but what the hell, why try and hide it when he can barely keep his
eyes off her.“She won’t. And I think it’s your turn to go the extra mile,
don’t you?” Just then Sakura turns in her gaze toward their direction. His
heart skips a beat as her expression goes from annoyed to bright in an instant,
a dazzling smile forming on her lips as she meets his gaze.
Something More
Sakura had been unusually quiet today. Or maybe it was just that she seemed lost in thought today. He wouldn’t say more so than usual though. For the past week since they started to travel together, she had been seemingly lost in her own thoughts as if she was carefully thinking over what she was going to say next.
He watches from the corner of his eye as she starts to peel an apple in her hands. Maybe he was thinking too much about it. He begins to lower his gaze back down to his book but in that split moment, he senses it– the break in Sakura’s concentration. His eyes return back to her as he sees her cut herself with the knife in her hands. It almost takes Sakura a full two seconds later before she realizes it. She really was spacing out.
Suddenly, he feels quite frustrated as he puts his book aside on the ground and stands up. He watches as a drop of blood drips down to the apple in her hand. The sight seems to snap her back to reality as she drops the apple and lets it roll down to around her feet. A second later, she begins to heal her wound with her chakra. It was frustrating to him to see such carelessness from her.
“You should be careful. Even if you can heal yourself, I rather you stay uninjured,” he finds himself speaking without realizing it as he picks up the apple from the floor.
“Sorry,” Sakura mumbles. “I was thinking…” she trails off as she takes the apple from his hand. Her apology was different from her usual bubbly persona. There was something bothering her.
“Thinking about what?” There it is again. He was asking more than he thought he would.
“About… us.”

After a long day working at the hospital, Sakura welcomed the end
of her shift with relief. She longed to get home and rest up as her
chakra was low from the extensive healing she had performed that day.
The war may have been permanently over, but people never stopped
getting hurt. Medic nin’s job was never done.“Sakura-san, you’re leaving?” a friendly co-worker at the
reception desk called to her. A sly look appeared on the woman’s face
and Sakura knew that this meant nothing good for her. “With that
handsome man again?”“My shift is over, so yes, I’m going home now,” Sakura
replied, ignoring the second question.“Just so you know, he’s waiting for you outside. Is he your
boyfriend?” The receptionist wasn’t deterred in her line of
questioning. She had a reputation of a huge gossip and Sakura
realized that Sasuke coming to pick her up after work everyday for a
week straight must have become a hot topic of discussion among the
staff. She’d been so wrapped up in her work on the children’s clinic
and other personal matters that she didn’t even notice.“You mean Sasuke-kun? He’s just a teammate. He’s just got back
from a long-term mission so he wants to catch up with everyone in the
village before he has to leave again,” she explained, keeping her
tone even and unconcerned.
